Three Travis County Corrections Officers remain hospitalized after a horrific head on collision which occurred on Saturday night around 1015 pm.
Senior Officer L. Goodloe, Corrections Officer D. Rodriguez and Corrections Officer C. Lueg remained hospitalized as of Sunday evening. A fourth Corrections Officer D. Lee was released this evening. Officer Rodriguez is expected to be released tomorrow. Release dates for Officer Lueg and Goodloe are not known at this time.
The four officers were a part of a car pool. Shortly after leaving the Travis County Correctional Complex at the end of their shift, they headed North on FM 973, a vehicle swerved into their lane and struck the vehicle the four were travelling in head on.
The driver of the vehicle, who attempted to flee the scene, was also transported to the hospital and charged with Intoxication Assault which is a 3rd degree felony and carries a penalty of 2-10 years in prison and $10,000 dollar fine.
All four officers sustained non-life threatening injuries and are expected to make a full recovery. Officer Goodloe is resting and should be able to take calls and visitors in a couple of days.

Two more officers involved in crash were released from the hospital. Officer D. Rodriguez was released yesterday and Officer L. Goodloe was released today. Officer C. Lueg remains hosptialized and is expected to be released in a few days. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Officer Lueg, the last of the four officers involved in the head on collision, was released from Brackenridge hospital yesterday. All four are now at home and still recovering. We are thankful as this event could have had a tragic ending.
TCSOA will be hosting a fundraiser on Thursday March 28th at the Travis County Correctional Complex from 10am to 4pm. All proceeds will be donated to the officers and their families. Special thanks to the Sheriff, Chief Sylvester, volunteers and the Sheriff's Posse BBQ team for their contributions.

Officer Rodriguez returned to work today. He was the first of the four involved in the car accident to return to full duty. Officer Lee is scheduled to return on limited duty tomorrow. We are all excited and happy to have them back in the saddle again. Officer Leug and Goodloe are continuing to recover. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
